About BIM & More
Pioneers of the BIM world
BIM & More provides solutions for digitising the design, construction and operation of buildings.
Developing digital systems for the construction industry
At BIM & More, we have been passionately supporting the digitalisation of the construction industry for over 25 years. Back in the early 1990s, founder Matthias Uhl was excited by the first CAD systems that worked three-dimensionally from the very first input. Even then, they offered a completely new perspective on design, forms and buildings. The idea of incorporating building products and materials into 3D design was born.
As pioneers of the new BIM world, we are developing ways to create intelligent three-dimensional models and load them into the libraries of CAD systems. Terms such as 'digital building information' or 'Building Information Modelling' (BIM) were coined.
We specialise in building product IT and CAD design
From our many projects with building materials manufacturers, we know their biggest information and communication management challenges. To manage many thousands of building product solutions and combinations - and to keep all their dimensions, properties and building physics data up to date - requires extremely powerful data management systems. To support the building materials and building products industry with these tasks, we create specialised software systems and database solutions, so-called PIM systems (Product Information Management).
Since 2007, we at BIM & More have gone one step further: we offer manufacturers and designers the ability to transfer the entire range of building products as BIM objects into architects' CAD software.
Leading the way to the digital future of construction
Under the leadership of BIM & More founder Matthias Uhl and CTO Ivan Nikolov, we develop innovative software and database solutions for the construction industry at our offices in Vienna and Sofia and in close cooperation with a team of young construction and IT experts.
BIM & More brings building material manufacturers and producers together with planners, architects, builders and investors - helping them on their way into the world of digital construction.
What exactly is BIM?
Quite simply, the future of construction! BIM stands for Building Information Modelling. It refers to a method for the networked design, construction and even subsequent operation of buildings.
BIM is not software, it is a process - and a whole new way of building. In BIM, a three-dimensional building information model is created at the very beginning of the design process, from which all plans and details can be visualised. Each component is digitised and seamlessly integrated into the computer model.
With BIM, buildings are designed and built faster and more accurately. When working with BIM, all trades are better connected. This avoids errors and makes it possible to predict costs and construction times more accurately. What's more, BIM is already mandatory for tenders for federal government buildings in Germany.
