In 2023, digitalisation in the construction industry is experiencing an unprecedented surge: the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) is becoming increasingly important due to sustainability, energy efficiency, cost pressures and rising interest rates. BIM can help make projects more efficient, sustainable and better. In addition, BIM will be mandatory for federal buildings from 2023. Our mission is to connect as many building material manufacturers and architects as possible to our BIM platform this year - making them BIM-ready. To achieve this, we want to give the real estate pioneers among you the opportunity to connect to the digital construction future with practical application knowledge. That's why this year we're launching our #BIMforward2023 practical BIM initiative, which will include a number of events for you.
1. Online - Quarterly product presentation on BIM & More Orchestra
The first online event via Zoom will take place in March: in a product presentation on BIM & More Orchestra, we will open the curtain once a quarter and give you a practical insight into how our BIM infrastructure works, so that you as a manufacturer can understand the benefits of our BIM solution - and see how BIM data preparation with BIM & More Orchestra differs from other methods. We will also use this format to demonstrate how BIM & More Orchestra is used in day-to-day control practice, so that you as a participant will walk away with a wealth of application knowledge: How does data preparation and delivery work with our BIM infrastructure? What does the dashboard look like? How does the connection to a PIM system work? Etc.

- 15.3.2023, 10.00 am to 10.45 am
- 17.5.2023, 10.00 am to 10.45 am

2. Live - The first BIM Barcamp in the DACH region: Building Materials in the Digital Age
The programme continues in June with the first BIM Barcamp in the DACH region. An innovative and interactive event concept awaits you at the Drees & Sommer Innovation Hub (DS Hub) in Stuttgart, with plenty of space for your questions, your individual topic requests and an attractive pre-selection of topics. Because: We do not determine the programme alone - but together with you. Our aim is to provide you with specific answers to your individual questions. And a good portion of motivation and inspiration for your work in BIM.

3. Online - BIM-SUMMER SCHOOL: Sustainable Digital Design and Construction
In our BIM SUMMER SCHOOL in June and July, we want to give you the opportunity to learn more about 'sustainable digital design and construction' in a series of four webinars. Topics such as 'Calculating the Building Circularity Passport during Design' or 'ESG-compliant design services in building construction' are just two examples of this year's BIM SUMMER SCHOOL. Stay tuned for further announcements during the first half of the year.

4. Live Workshop: Digitalisation in buildings - Classification management in design
In September, we will follow the call of the DataCampus from the far north and host a workshop on 'Digitalisation in buildings - classification management in planning' as part of the 10th Knowhow Meeting in Hamburg. We want to get to the bottom of the key question in BIM-compliant product data provision: What classifications are required in digital building design? This is a complex question that cannot be answered in one or two sentences. Rather, it requires a good insight and understanding of the digital design world of architects and engineers. The aim of the event is to develop and present the different scenarios and thereby create the necessary understanding of the needs of digital planners. Watch for our detailed announcements during the first half of the year.

5. Live - Symposium: PIM-BIM Day
In October, we will repeat our PIM-BIM Day at the Drees & Sommer Innovation Hub (DS Hub) in Stuttgart, where we want to bring the industry together once again: Manufacturers of building materials and building products on the one hand - and planners, specialist planners and architects on the other. Manufacturers will have the opportunity to put themselves in the planner's shoes and learn first-hand how they need to prepare product data for BIM planning in a way that meets the planner's requirements (#Usability). Whether designer or manufacturer: The PIM-BIM Day opens up space for a change of perspective. You should then have a better understanding of all BIM stakeholders. We will also get to the bottom of the question of whether PIM is essential for a BIM strategy, or whether the maintenance of product data should be the task of designers and architects in their BIM systems. The programme is a good mix of keynotes, discussion and networking. More information on this day will be available later this year.
2. PIM-BIM Day - Live Event
Speakers: Matthias Uhl and others
- 19.10.2023, 10.00 am to 4.00 pm - Registration: Link follows
Place: Innovation Hub (DS Hub), Obere Waldplätze 22 - 70569 Stuttgart
